About the Author

Antonio Laera

Antonio Laera is an artist and storyteller from Miami, Florida. With a background in art and design, his work draws on a deep passion for translating emotion and visual experience into narrative form.

On the autistic spectrum, Antonio often finds inspiration through music, sometimes listening to a single song on repeat until a scene plays vividly in his mind. At the age of 19, one such moment sparked by a Led Zeppelin track ignited the first fully realized scene that would eventually grow into the story of Death. Chapter 14 is named in homage to that song.

This novel marks the beginning of a four book series. While its themes are steeped in the supernatural, they resonate with emotional truth. Readers close to Antonio have often recognized pieces of his personal journey within the story. His hope is that it inspires others to tell their own, whether through fiction or lived experience.

He credits his first creative influence to Stan Lee and the timeless characters he brought to life, especially Spider-Man. Writing Death was never just about storytelling. It was about translating a movie playing in his mind into words on a page, scene by scene, shot by shot, without it ever becoming a screenplay. It was a process that asked everything of him. At times, it meant feeling his characters' pain as if it were his own.

Antonio never thought he'd see this story take shape, let alone finish it. But through writing, he did. And in doing so, he brought a long-held dream to life.
